SOIL EXCAVATION & REMOVAL
Soil Excavation EnviroTrac regularly conducts remedial actions that include the excavation, transportation and off-site disposal of contaminated soil. These excavations can range from shallow and small “surgical” hotspot removals to large and vertically extensive projects conducted over a period of days or weeks and ranging upwards of 1,000 tons of material removed. Some of the soil that is excavated from contaminated sites is “clean” (e.g., from trenching associated with subsurface piping and utilities installed as a component of the treatment remedy or as a result of site grading and preparation for construction of facilities). This soil is most often reused on-site as practicable. In addition to using an assortment of heavy equipment and support vehicles and machinery and related operators and laborers these activities can require the use of professional staff to monitor potential worker health and safety and community impacts, and to collect samples that are used to monitor remediation progress and prevent unnecessary over-excavation, and to generate documentation on the satisfactory completion of the work scope in accordance with plan.
