FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENTS
EnviroTrac specializes in developing and implementing comprehensive solutions to soil and groundwater contamination associated with petroleum, industrial and commercial facilities. The work required to properly investigate and remediate an environmental incident can vary widely depending on the nature and extent of contamination and applicable laws and regulations pertaining to the matter. In some instances the process from discovery to completion of cleanup can be conducted quickly and with a minimum amount of required paperwork, plans, permits and regulatory oversight. In other instances the process can be quite complex and require significant effort and time to achieve closure.

Formal feasibility evaluations are usually conducted by EnviroTrac as a component of more elaborate and significant environmental projects; an example being the feasibility study (FS) that is part of the traditional remedial investigation (RI) process. It is during the FS that remedial action choices are evaluated and developed. The FS uses information gathered during investigative work to develop alternative remedies that will eliminate the site's threat to public health or the environment. Wherever feasible, a remedy that permanently reduces or eliminates the contamination is preferred. During the FS process, EnviroTrac screens each identified alternative to make sure the remedy is appropriate for the site considering:
  • Overall protection of public health and the environment
  • Reduction in toxicity, mobility and volume of hazardous waste
  • Short-term effectiveness and potential impacts during remediation
  • Long-term effectiveness and permanence
  • Implementation and technical reliability
  • Compliance with statutory requirements
  • Sustainability and climate change impacts
  • Community acceptance
